Ready to meet the Mind Flayer?
Attention, “Stranger Things” superfans: Unless you’ve been living under an internet-less rock (must be nice), the 24/7 news cycle certainly feels like we’re already in the Upside Down. Come this October (just in time for Halloween), Angelenos can escape reality for an hour when Netflix’s sci-fi horror series takes over “a central Downtown location” in the form of a social distancing-safe drive-thru — and tickets go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Following last summer’s Santa Monica Pier takeover, the “Stranger Things Drive Into” is transporting Angelenos through time and space to 1985-era Hawkins, Indiana. There, attendees will drive their cars through a multi-level landscape that will include the Starcourt Mall, the Russians’ secret sub-shopping-center labs and (of course) the Upside Down.
